One of my favourite travel pics — a giant Galapagos tortoise that we encountered during a hike on our first day in the islands.
I can’t think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything.

I suppose I could find a map, and add virtual pins to it in photoshop, then post it here or something. Maybe I’ll get around to that sometime. But in the meantime, how about a simple list. These are the places in Europe that I’ve visited since moving across the pond.
Some places I’ve been for work, but where I don’t consider I’ve made a real visit because either I didn’t get to see anything or I was only there for a few hours. In almost every case, I’d really like to get back, and I don’t like making a habit of the rapid fire business visit. Alas, there are only so many days in the week.
I’ve got a list of UK places as well, but I think I’ll do that in a separate post.
The famous abbey of Mont St. Michel in France. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. And the sky on the August morning that we were there was a stunning blue.
I wanted to play with Tumblr. And I miss long form writing.
So I started a little Tumblr site where I could keep some thoughts about all of my travels.
I’ll probably also rant occasionally about politics, and post about living in London — which, it must be said, is like the world’s longest, coolest holiday trip.
I hope you’ll chip in your own thoughts.
